A superb Georgian garnet cabochon and old mine cut diamond ring. The central oval garnet being claw collet set with an open back, flanked between two chubby old mine cut diamond, the ring has the most beautiful engraved shoulders with tulip shape leading to a folaite design. There are tendrils swirling around the stone bezels, these have all but worn away in the middle on the central stone but what remains is gorgeous and tantalising.
A beautiful Georgian ring with strong rococo influences to its design.

THE GEMS: Central garnet cabochon measures 8 x 6mm, the stone has surface scratches and is on the transparent side, it becomes more saturated when worn. Two old cut diamond approx 0.16ct each of good clarity and colour.
MEASUREMENTS: Ring size US 8, UK P
WEIGHT: 3 grams
MATERIALS: 18ct gold, garnet and diamonds
CONDITION: Some signs of its 200 year age, with wear to the sides of central bezel setting, some surface scratches to the garnet and thinning to the back of the band. Signs of a historic repair to one the the sides of the central stone.
HALLMARKS: unmarked acid tested 18ct gold
